Apple has already released iOS 4.2 GM version for developers.The Golden Master (GM) version means that it is the shipping version of the software that developers must use to develop and submit iOS apps that are compatible with iOS 4.2.
Folks at 9to5Mac are reporting that Apple will release iOS 4.2 either on Tuesday, November 9th or on Friday, November 12th.
They have received the conflicting information from two German websites, Inside-Handy.de and iFun.
Inside-Handy.de claim that they have received information from Deutsche Telekom representatives.
As you can see from the screenshot below, the URL of the carrier update reveals that it will be released on November 12th.
