he new gaming-oriented mobile PC that Lesance revealed is known as the GSN801GAW and has a configuration centered around the Intel Core i7 940X Extreme Edition Central Processing unit.This CPU is backed up by up to 8 GB of DDR3-1333 RAM and paired with top-level DirectX 11 graphics.The available video options include two ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 cards in CrossFire and NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 480M with 2 GB of GDDR5 VRAM.
Whichever graphics option is selected will have an 18.4-inch display with a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels to work with.Lesance went for a solid state drive with an internal capacity of 160 GB, not exactly on par with a high-capacity HDD but with far higher read and write speeds.The laptop also has the full range of connectivity and I/O options, the list including integrated WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet, a Blu-ray burner and a built-in webcam.
The first one is that the design is arguably not on a high enough aesthetic level to do the insides justice.The other one may prove somewhat more problematic, since it relates to the battery life. Apparently, the entire machine can only be kept running for about 1.5 hours on a single charge.Set to start shipping in Japan soon, the 12-pound device has a price of 439,800 yen, or about $5,420.
