Lexar has introduced a new 256GB memory card called Lexar Professional 400x SDXC UHS-I. This new largest size memory card’s format is SDXC (Secure Digital eXtended Capacity) that has been compared with 32GB capacity of the restricted SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) format. Lexar has specially made this memory card for professional photographers and videographers. Because, now-a-days they need to shoot in high resolution images and 1080p videos.

Lexar product manager, Manisha Sharma said, “Professional photographers and videographers are being tapped to capture more HD video, in addition to still photos, when out on assignment. These new demands often leave them with less time and resources to shoot. High-performance, high-capacity cards like this one enables these photographers to gain back time normally wasted on changing cards or transferring images.”

The new 256GB SDXC memory card can read data at minimum 60 MB/S speed. You may think that its cost may exceed your budget limit. But we have calculated that Lexar 256GB SDXC memory card will be cheaper than the cost of few 256GB SD memory cards. You can also use this memory card as a secondary back-up solution for computers. Theoretically, 2TB SDXC memory card is possible to make. It is expected that 2TB version will be available soon.
