Lumigon T1 gets Froyo

Lumigon, a Danish manufacturer, which was completely unknown to me until now will, in October two Androidsmartphone market to bring. One of them will be the T1, which has received a facelift to date and to launch Android 2.2 Froyo gets missed…..

Thanks to the immense amount of third party support behind Android, the devices running on the platform quickly improve with hard hitting releases like the HTC EVO 4G, Galaxy S and Droid X all featuring extremely sought after specs. This includes, 1GHz processors, beautiful displays and much more.

Looks like there are at least two things that the Danes can get right: butter cookies, and hyping it up for a delayed Android handset. According to Lumigon’s Facebook page, what we’re looking at here is the first official rendering of the T1’s redesign  quite a radical change here, especially with the new navigation pad and the now externally-accessible microSD slot.

Apart from an earlier statement confirming Froyo for said device, this picture alone is literally all we’re being teased with right now, so feel free to “like” the Danish company’s Facebook page for some more forthcoming gadget porn.

Lumigon T1 hasn’t been in the media as of late but today we hear of the device once again. Thanks to a Facebook posting, Lumigon has shown us off the redesigned T1 handset, as pictured above. In addition to the picture, they also let us know that the device will be running Android 2.2 also known as Froyo.

The smartphones be the first of several planned devices. Preorders are from the 20th September 2010 was adopted. As regards the equipment of the T1, the manufacturer of the following information on the website announced:

  • 1GHz i.MX51 processor
  • Capacitive touch-screen display with a resolution of 480 × 320 pixel
  • A-GPS
  • WLAN
  • Bluetooth
  • Accelerometers
  • Mini HDMI connection for 720p video output
  • 5 megapixel camera with flash
  • FM Radio Receiver
  • 3.5mm jack input for headphones
  • Android 2.1
  • Similar facilities for S1

Now, there’s no telling if Lumigon plans to scratch all of these specs and give us a completely upgraded phone but chances are they won’t. However, what’s to make note is that the updated T1 doesn’t seem to include a slide-out keypad as the previously announced version. Perhaps Lumigon will be going the all touchscreen route? We’ll have to wait and find out.
