When Microsoft recently released Windows Phone 8, the new iteration of its mobile OS was fairly impressive. And we have been waiting for the Windows Phone 8 devices to hit the shelves since. The good news is that they are finally here, being offered by three U.S. wireless carriers.
Among the notable devices that will lead the Windows Phone 8 race, are HTC Windows Phone 8X, Nokia Lumia 820 and Nokia Lumia 920. Given below is a brief recount of the availability of each of these devices with the three leading U.S. carriers as well as their price points.
HTC Windows Phone 8X:
AT&T has made HTC 8X available for $99.99 with a new contract. This price applies to the 8GB model of the device. The 16GB model costs $199.99 with a new contract. HTC 8X is available in both California Blue and Limelight Yellow colors with AT&T.
T-mobile USA is apparently carrying only the 16GB model of the device, selling it for $199.99 with different post-paid plans. However, you can also get the device for a down payment of $150. You’ll have to pay $20 per month, in addition to your postpaid plan bill, to cover the device’s cost.
Whereas HTC 8X is already available with T-Mobile and AT&T, Verizon Wireless will start shipping it the next week. Verizon will be carrying the red, black and blue models of the device, selling them for $199.99 with a new contract.
Nokia Lumia 820:
Nokia Lumia 820 is available with AT&T in black color only and sets you back $49.99 with a new contract. T-Mobile offers an exclusive variant of Lumia 820, namely Lumia 810, which will cost $149.99 with a postpaid plan.
However, you can pay $100 as down payment for the device and then continue paying $20 per month to cover the remaining costs, along with your postpaid bill. Verizon is going to put up the device for $99.99 together with a new contract.
Nokia Lumia 920:
And finally, here is the big-wig of the Windows Phone 8 arena. Packing a lot of impressive specs, Nokia Lumia 920 is up for grabs with AT&T alone, which means that only AT&T will be carrying the device.
The carrier is currently offering it for $99.99 with a new contract. You will get to have only the 32GB storage option, although you may choose from a wide range of colors.
