Aakash 2 is going on sale in the Indian market this October. According to reports, the second version of the ultra-cheap Aakash tablet will be introduced formally on October 5, on the day of the first version’s debut. DataWind will realize its initial promise to deliver a $35 tablet PC in India through Aakash 2 (formerly known as the Ubislate 7+).

The IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) in Bombay has started receiving the upgraded version of the Aakash slate from the DataWind. The company confirmed that it has already received 5.5 million orders from general customers. DataWind has an aim to distribute 220 million units in India.
The Aakash 2 tablet can be pre-ordered from the official website. Pre-order customers are also considered for an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade.
