According to Bloomberg news Asus, Acer, and Toshiba will roll out a mix of tablets based on both Windows 8 and Windows RT at the hardware-centric Computex trade show next week. In fact, Windows 8 will be seen running on these tablets for the first time this month at the Computex show in Taipei.
Windows 8 will run on chips from Intel. Windows RT will run on ARM chips from Nvidia, Qualcomm, and Texas Instruments. According to the Bloomberg’s sources, one Asus tablet will use Nvidia chip. Windows RT-based Toshiba tablet will use Texas Instruments’ silicon. Acer will show a Windows 8 device running on top of an Intel chip and Asus will show off a second device based on an Intel chip.
To be noted, Windows RT is the first mainstream desktop-class operating system from Microsoft to run on ARM processors. But do you remember that, previously when Windows RT tablets were displayed at trade shows and conferences, it were inaccessible. So, this time is it possible that conference goers will be able to use the devices?
