Apple’s Online Store Now Shipping All Six iPad Models Within 24 Hours

Apple’s online store is now going to ship all six models of the iPad within 24 hours of receiving the order, up from three to five business days until last week, which was itself an improvement on a shipping time of seven to ten days from a few weeks ago. The six models are Wi-Fi 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, and Wi-Fi + 3G 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.

It appears that production has finally caught up to order levels for the device. Demand was so “surprisingly strong” when the iPad first launched in the U.S. — hitting the 1 million sales mark in 28 days, 2 million within two months and 3 million by the end of the third month — that Apple “[had to make] the difficult decision to postpone the international launch of the iPad by one month, until the end of May,” the company said in an earlier statement.

We’ve reached out to Apple to confirm that the supply rate is now in fact meeting demand for the device, and will update this post with any further details.
