ASUS first showed off its FonePad at the MWC 2013. At that time the Taiwanese company said the 7-inch device would be arriving in the European market at some time in March. But now ASUS has announced to take pre-orders for the device, but only for the United Kingdom (UK) consumers.
The Asus Fonepad weighs 340g only and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 7-inch HD display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor, a PowerVR GX540 GPU unit, 3MP rear camera which is capable of capturing 720p video, 1.2MP front facing camera capable of capturing 1080p video, 1 GB RAM along with a 8GB or 16GB internal memory. The internal memory can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot. The tablet also supports WiFi, HSPA+, 3G voice and mobile data.
The Fonepad hybrid is expected to be shipped on April 26. According to Engadget, the FonePad has seen with a £179.99 price tag in Barcelona.
