Sling Media announced the availability of SlingPlayer for Android-powered tablets, as long as they run on the Android 3.x Honeycomb operating system and considering how Honeycomb is the tablet-centric version of the tablet operating system, while there is still a remnant of tablets which are powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread out there. Sling Media Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of EchoStar Corporation announced the availability of SlingPlayer for tablets running versions 3.0 or later of the Android operating system. Available for purchase on the Android Market, the application lets Slingbox owners extend their living room TV experience to their tablets and takes advantage of the higher performance, screen resolutions and video quality the latest Android devices can deliver. New to this release of SlingPlayer is a revamped program guide that makes it easy to browse content choices while continuing to watch TV.
