Prior to getting my htc inspire, I did not have a gmail account, nor have I ever intended to have one. I went ahead with the gmail activation just to be able to download apps from the android market. The more I thought about it, the more I began to realize that google is “blackmailing” android users by requiring a gmail account. I did a factory reset, effectively deleting the gmail I had. However, after rebooting, setting up and reinstalling my sim and sd card, I now cannot download 3rd party apps because of security blocks. I like this phone, but I’m returning it for a refund. Sorry, htc, you lost a sale and a customer.

Wow what a baby, who cares its an email account not a friggin pay service. It does nothing negative or annoying, it is pretty much just a login. How can yuou say blackmailing that is so wrong and you need to get off your high pedistall. This is no way a bad thing so wake up and suck it up or you wong be enjoying any of the great phones out there.

You do realize that every single smartphone will require you to register it in some way right? Iphone you have to set up an itunes account, andriod you have to set up a gmail, motorola you have to set up an account using their service as well.
