Okay, I got to admit this one was real quick. iOS users have been expecting that it will take the regular coterie a while before the new iPad is jailbroken. But it seems that these hackers are better than we expected. Right on the day of release, the well-known iOS hackers @MuscleNerd has claimed that he has already accomplished jailbreak on the new iPad!
In such a brief time, he could have of course accomplished only a very basic jailbreak. However, this will make it really easy for the iPhone-Dev Team to work on his jailbreak and then devise a stable jailbreak soon.
There are other reports on the web too, regarding the jailbreak of the new iPad. It would seem that the iOS hackers have been waiting eagerly to lay their hands on the new tablet and jailbreak it right away. Another iOS hacker Stefan Esser, also known as i0n1c, has released a video of the new iPad claiming that he has been able to accomplish untethered jailbreak on the new iPad! If indeed that is true, that can be a huge achievement in a remarkably small time.
Pod2g and his team took quite a while to be able to accomplish untethered jailbreak on iPhone 4S and iPad 2. But if an iOS hackers has indeed accomplished the same for the new iPad within a day, that is extra-ordinary indeed.
So far, we have no news as to when this claimed jailbreak will be available.
