The company announced the launch of the VIZIO VTAB1008. The tablet will be a WiFi-only device with an 8″ (1024 x 768) capacitive touchscreen display. VIZIO has just announced a brand new tablet for it’s VIA (VIZIO Internet Apps) Plus ecosystem.
After making a name for it self selling TVs, VIZIO is finally decided enter into the Android tablet market. It will also powered by Android though but there is no information about what version it will be. But we assume it’s probably going to be either Gingerbread Android 2.3 or Honeycomb Android 3.2

The VIZIO VTAB1008 tablet powered by a 1GHz processor, micro HDMI output, and a front facing camera for video calls, built-in GPS, Bluetooth, 2GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot (supports up to 32GB),. Consumers will also be able to use the tablet as a remote control for their VIZIO devices (and other compatible devices) with the universal remote control app and built-in IR blaster.
For now no information on pricing, but expect the tablets to arrive at retail stores nationwide in this summer.
