Are there people on Facebook inside your friends list with whom you don’t want to chat with, but they keep insisting on it? You don’t have to worry anymore, because Facebook offers a very handy tool which will help you control your online status before signing into chat service. Follow this tutorial to find out how to make this setup.
To get started follow the steps below.
Step 1: Once you log in to Facebook, from left navigation click on More option and then under Friends section click More.
Step 2: Click on Create List button.
Step 3: Under List name give the list a name e.g. Offline Mode, and then under Members field add those friends for whom you don’t want to appear online in Chat.
Step 4: Click Create button.
Step 5: Now, from bottom right corner of your screen start the chat app and then select Options.
Step 6: Choose Advanced Settings…
Step 7: Now select All your friends see you except…
Step 8: Inside that field type the name of the list you created in Step 3 and then click Save.
Step 9: Next time, when you log in to chat, you won’t be visible as online for people you added inside the list in Step 3. Note that you can always add/remove people from that list.
