The ‘Like’ and ‘Share’ buttons on Facebook posts are the most popular method of interaction on the social network. Facebook has now redesigned these buttons, giving them an all new look and feel.

Facebook redesigned Like button

These buttons may seem a tiny part of Facebook but in reality, they have been one of the key factors in driving the popularity of the site. According to the company, the Like and Share buttons are shown across 7.5 million websites and viewed nearly 22 billion times each day!

Websites generally incorporate these buttons because the moment a viewer hits ‘Like’ on a given web page, the web activity of that user is also shared on his Facebook timeline. At one side, this bring more views to the web page and at the other, it helps Facebook generate user interactivity on its own platform.

The new look of these buttons comes with a bright, blue background. Moreover, the looks used for the text on these buttons is Helvetica typeface. When viewing the redesigned buttons, one is compelled to admit that they are more clear and easily visible compared with their older counterparts.

The change may seen very minute but for websites which use Facebook Like and Share as a key metric to drive traffic and attract views, the redesigned buttons can play a very significant role. According to Facebook, “We’re already seeing a favorable increase in Likes and Shares with the new design and will be rolling these buttons out to everyone in the coming weeks.”
