Limbaugh Calls Apple Republicans, Says Google Is Like Democrats

Rush Limbaugh is among the most famous radio talk show hosts in the U.S. Limbaugh is also credited with having a fairly good knowledge of the tech world. In a recent episode of his radio program, he stated that Apple is much like Republicans whereas Google is more a Democrat.

He reached his conclusion by reading the many different tech sites and blogs. According to Limbaugh, Apple is hated on a staggering majority of these blogs, who tend to criticize the fact that Apple has closed systems.

In his own words, while commenting on the authors of online tech blogs, he says, “The way you see these guys propping up Samsung and Google and Android and the way these guys are ripping Apple to shreds, would you try to see that in the mainstream media? Would you open your eyes and see what’s going on in the mainstream media? Would you try to open your eyes and see that in the mainstream media, the Republican Party is Apple, and the Democrat Party is Samsung, Google, and Android.”

In a way, his statement is well justified. Apple once used to be a rebel in the tech arena, but the company has taken a more conservative approach of late. Google, on the other hand, has launched Android which is an open-source system and takes a more liberal view on the nature of technology. However, at the same time, it can’t be denied that Apple’s view seems far more popular when it translates to consumer devices.
