Apple’s iPhone might be loosing its coolness to Android opponents like Samsung Galaxy S III? The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) has reported that Apple is loosing demand for iPhone 5. The result is slashed orders for iPhone 5 display units.
In recent months, a number of analysts have speculated that in face of the growing competition and Android’s increasingly larger smartphone market share, Apple may consider the option of creating a cheaper iPhone for emerging markets. Now, Apple’s Phil Schiller has effectively trashed the idea, citing that a cheaper iPhone would put Apple’s profits in peril.
Apple’s iPhone is really attractive. But there’s no way to deny that it is quiet a bit costly. Recently, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) has reported that Apple is making a ‘cheap iPhone’ and may launch it later this year.
Nearly a year ago, Apple had reached 37% of the US smartphone market with its flagship iPhone smartphones. Apparently, the second half of last year proved a bit too fruitful for the company, bolstering its sales significantly since the launch of iPhone 5. Back in December 2012, Apple had already grabbed 53% of the market.

Since then, the company has partnered with a number of companies, including Honda, Audi, BMW and others. Hyundai has now announced at CES 2013 that it will also be bringing Siri Eyes Free Mode to its cars.
Apple has recently made a significant change at its Online Store. The change incorporates the availability of the 1 terabyte hybrid Fusion Drive as a build-to-order option for the entry-level 21.5-inch iMac. Earlier, the Fusion Drive was available to go only with high-end iMac models.
