HTC is appealing a U.S. International Trade Commission preliminary ruling declaring some Apple mobile products didn’t violate patents held by S3 Graphics and it eemed as if the spat was coming to an end after HTC said it was open to negotiations after a U.S. International Trade Commission judge ruled that HTC infringed two Apple patents…………..
Samsung has pledged its Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet will see local release in the near future and following an injunction against the promotion and sale of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 infringes 10 Apple patents, including the look and feel and touchscreen technology of the iPad. The Australian injunction is necessary because Samsung has had announcements of an imminent launch of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 device ongoing since July 20 and Apple is basing claim on a U.S. version of the Galaxy tablet, which is different from the one that will be sold in Australia……………

Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster suggests interest in the iPhone remains strong and he points to a small survey of 216 mobile phone owners in Minneapolis that shows 64% will buy an iPhone as their next handset. 67% of BlackBerry owners were going to switch to an iPhone next with only 26% sticking with RIM and by contrast, 94% of iPhone owners were going to get an Apple handset again, while 42% of Android owners would be continuing with the OS for their next phone…………….
Apple seems to have opened up the iCloud Beta on iCloud.com and the login page is nearly identical to a leak from the days before the original iCloud announcement. Apple has launched iCloud.com for developers with access to Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Find My iPhone, and iWork, when developers sign in they are prompted to move their MobileMe account to iCloud…………..
An industry analyst has claimed that Apple is likely to launch internet connected TV sets in march 2012 and rumors say that the company would be looking to converge its Apple TV box into a monitor. Apple’s new 2012 models will work from the VideoWave’s six-inch thickness and 16 speakers and theirs will in fact be thinner and will equal that of the speaker total. Apple does have their Apple TV set top box but has always downplayed its significance and new Apple TVs would reportedly come in 3 different models and 3 different price points……………
Apple has more money today than the U.S. government and there’s even crazy talk about how Steve Jobs might have to bail out Uncle Sam, the way that J.P. Morgan did in the mid-1890s. pple will share that hard-earned money from selling so many iPhones, iPads, iPod Touches, and Macs over many years, but stranger things have happened during financial panics over the years. The operating balance in Washington is at US$73.768 billion and Apple has US$75.876 billion……………
Apple and Barnes & Noble are in high-level talks regarding Apple acquiring the massive retail bookseller and Apple is said to be considering a purchase of book giant Barnes & Noble. Apple has massive amounts of cash-on-hand and B&N’s stock hasn’t exactly been a blue chipper the past few years and Apple would likely need to add a small premium to appease the shareholders, but they could probably snap up Barnes & Noble for under $2 billion………………….
