A hacker has managed to get an HTML5-based game working on the Apple TV 2G and having first jailbroken the device and installed the Couch Surfer application, which is provides a Web browser for jailbroken Apple TVs. The game is a simple BlackJack card game and he addition is notable as it demonstrates that the Apple TV is a functional platform for HTML5-based applications. HTML5 would provide an alternative to simple Flash-based games and it could become a compelling alternative to Apple’s native App Store applications in time…………

Apple Interested More In Lightweight Notebooks

Shipments of Apple’s just released third-generation MacBook Air from the supply chain already reached 400,000-500,000 units in June and the volume is expected to remain strong throughout July and August and with this report, may be Apple interested more in lightweight notebooks. Apple’s latest MacBook Air is set to be yet another huge success for the company and pple announced shipments of its Macs during the third quarter reached 3.95 million units, a 14% increase over last year’s numbers. Apple’s orders so far hint that total MacBook Air sales for 2011 could hit 14 million units and Apple has a vise-grip on ultraportables like it has on tablets………….

Apple Is Killing Off The Magic Mouse In Favor of Magic Trackpad?

Apple’s popular Magic Mouse looks to be set for an update that will improve its functionality under OS X Lion, existing part number has been removed from Apple’s inventory and replaced by a new device that will reportedly work better with Lion’s more advanced multitouch gestures.
