Microsoft’s operating system, Windows is again making news as we move closer to the official release date of Windows 8. In the latest updates, some leaked screenshots of Windows 8 have been grabbed which depict some changes in the interface. There’s a ribbon on the Explorer’s icon and apart from some minor UI tweaks, most of the look and feel is quite similar to Windows 7.

AMD Updates A-Series Processors, Includes Unlocked Chips

Chipmaker AMD release updates to its A-series desktop and notebook Fusion processors with bumping clock speeds and adding overclocking to the desktop line. The two unlocked editions are the AMD A8-3870K and AMD A8-3670K. Both chips can be overclocked by about 500MHz on the CPU side, and 200MHz on the graphics processor side (GPU). There is a difference in the number of GPU cores between the two: 380 vs. 400. There is 6 desktop and 8 laptop processors have been announced.

Uncertainty Looming Over Firefox’s Future

Times are tough for Mozilla and its flagship web browser Firefox. Last month Firefox lost its number two position in the web browser usage to Chrome. Corporate users are mulling over abandoning Firefox as their preferred web browser because of its accelerated development schedule. Mozilla’s three year old contact with Google, from which it earns the majority of its revenue, may not be renewed.
