Apple Q2 2011 Results: 18.65 Million iPhones, 4.69 Million iPads, 9.02 Million iPods Sold, $24.67 Billion Revenue, Profit Up 95%

Apple has announced its earning of second quarter earning of 2011,Profit up 95%, $24.67 Billion in revenue. Apple sold 18.65 million iPhones in the second quarter compared to 8.75 million units in the same quarter last year and sold 4.69 Million iPads. iPod sales were down came in at 9.02 million units, down from 10.89 million in the second fiscal quarter of 2010 and 19.45 million last quarter. Revenue for the second quarter came in at $24.67 billion and Apple recorded $5.99 billion in profit, up 95% from $3.07 billion in the same quarter last year.

iPhone 4 Design Patent Has Granted As Apple/Samsung Lawsuit Going On

United States Patent and Trademark office finally awarded Apple with design patents related to iPhone 4 and iPod touch 2007 model. Included in the batch are iOS Maps and Compass app design patents, a patent for the iPhone 4’s stainless steel band and another one for reducing wait times in call centers. However, the most interesting patent from the group appears to allow a touch display to act as a space-saving RFID tag reader.
