A number of teams from around the world are competing in what is known as the Google Lunar X Prize (GLXP). In this competition, the competing teams try to build a vehicle of their own which can take a small trip to the moon. Omega Envoy is the team that is participating from Florida and is backed by the parent company, Earthrise Space Inc.

Team DARwIn Wins RoboCup

Each year, a different type of soccer game is been held. It’s called “Robot Soccer World Cup”,widely known as “RoboCup.” In these soccer games, instead of professional soccer players like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, only robots participate to play. The control of these robots are, however, in some people’s hands. This year the RoboCup was held from June 18 to June 23. And, this years champion is Team DARwIn.

NASA Requests Future Lunar Explorers Not To Mess With Its Moon Artifacts

It’s been more than 40 years since man first landed on the Moon. The field of space exploration has seen many breakthroughs ever since, and landing on the Moon is still regarded as one of the most important milestone to be crossed to prove ones excellence in space exploration. As a continuation of this trend few more countries, including China, India, and Japan, are looking to put unmanned probes on the lunar surface in the next few years. Private space exploration companies are also expected to send probes in the moon. The X Prize Foundation announced that they want to put a robot on the moon by 2015. And NASA is worried that these unregulated space explorations may destroy its historical artifacts in the moon. To preserve its moon stuff, NASA has restated its previously released guidelines for future lunar explorers.
