Now a days, we are gradually inclining to solar power. The U.S is one of the countries which is spreading the solar power technology rapidly. Lately, it's been reported that world's largest solar farm in California has started its journey and it's running in full pace.

Who says that solar power plant can't be gorgeous? The people of New Caledonia are out to prove the naysayers wrong. Australian solar company Conergy is building a heart-shaped solar farm which is claimed to be the most beautiful solar power plant of the world.

Lately, it's been reported that Japan has decided to build world's first huge floating solar power plants. One power plant will have a power capacity of 1.7 MW, while the other will have a capacity of 1.2 MW. Both the floating solar power plants will be running successfully by April of next year.

To have solar energy, you are required to have solar cell. Until now, the solar cells that we have seen are nontransparent. Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System (ISEGS), is the "world's largest solar thermal plant." The good news is now this solar thermal plant is fully operational and is expected to generate enough electricity to power 140,000 houses, each year.

At present, many houses and offices run on solar energy. And now it seems like it's time for Earth to run on solar energy. Japan’s leading engineering firm Shimizu Corporation has planned to build an array of solar cells around the Moon's equator in order to harvest solar energy and beam it back to Earth. The project is called Luna Ring.
