Last month T-Mobile announced the deployment of HD Voice calling with the arrival of iPhone 5 later this month. It was expected to be the only wireless carrier in the U.S. to deliver nation-wide HD Voice. Now, AT&T is also on its way to support HD Voice. The company has released an official statement to confirm HD Voice for its users. AT&T is expecting to launch the service later this year.
According to AT&T senior VP Kris Rinne said, “HD Voice is part of our voice over LTE strategy.” That means, AT&T will offer HD Voice over its LTE network. The mobile operator is currently working on “advanced LTE” which can reduce interference and bond together traffic from various frequencies to ensure plenty of bandwidth available to handle HD Voice when the need arises.
