MIT Project Aims To Deliver Different Printable Customizable Robots To Every Person

At present, there are many amazing robots. But unfortunately, we can’t afford them because of their high price. So, for us, owning a robot always remains a dream. But recently MIT has announced a new project, ‘An Expedition in Computing Printable Programmable Machines.’ Their aim is to give everyone a chance to have his/her own robot. Therefore, MIT gets $10 million funded by National Science Foundation (NSF) for printable robots. The time is not so far, when we will see, personal robots are helping people in different tasks.

Goes beyond saying that, these future upcoming robots will not look like the movie robots (like iRobot) or autobots (Transformers 1, 2, 3). Rather these robots will be like fully programmed working origami bot. Still now, two different types or robots have been prototyped. One is a multi-legged machine (like the insect alike robot) that can reach hard to access or dangerous locations. Another one is a gripper which is designed for folks with limited mobility.

As it is still now an open floor, so people have got plenty of chances to come up with their new designed, technological robots. The team hopes, people will come up with different types of robots that can work or help in manufacturing and education, to health care and disaster relief. But the most important thing to be kept in mind is that, this robots should be cost very cheap. Right now, the project has has been funded for the next 5 years. If you are interested to show the team, what you have in you, then don’t waste time. Go and show them your best effort. Who knows, we might use that robot that you have created. Here’s a demo for you.
