Are you one of those who wholeheartedly believes in the dangers that one may run when using a cellphone during driving – and yet can’t help using it when it rings, even on a highway? In that case, this new product from smartphone accessory maker, Scosche, is really going to help you out. Called ‘CellControl’ this product shuts down your cellphone’s use if the car is in motion.
To make use of CellControl, all you have to do is plug in a specific dongle to the OBD-II port under the car’s dashboard. This port is available in cars which have a make year of 1996 or later. Once the dongle is plugged in, it will be able to detect whenever the car is moving. It will then send this information to the related app on your smartphone.
This app will then cause your cellphone to shut down as long as the car is moving. However, the app will allow calls when you stop or if you put on a handset. In this way, this is your fail-safe method of not taking a call when driving and thus, not risking your life. However, this product is useful for only someone who actually wants to stop taking calls on a cellphone while driving.
