Toshiba dual-screen GuideBook tablet is now  Ready to Launch on this Month…..

Believe it or not, Toshiba has been toying around with dual-screen tablets at least as far back as 2006, and it looks like it might be trying its hand at the idea again now that it’s catching on a bit — DigiTimes is reporting that company has a new dual-screen “GuideBook” device on track for a June launch.

Toshiba is readying its first real tablet for an outing in just a couple of weeks, a leak suggested today. Called the GuideBook, it would use dual 7-inch touchscreens not unlike the cancelled Microsoft Courier.

Toshiba hat nicht nur seine erstes Netbook mit DDR3-Support vorgestellt, sondern offenbar auch ein Dual-Screen Note- bzw. Netbook angekündigt. Wie der taiwanische Branchendienst DigiTimes vermeldet, will der japanische Elektronikhersteller gegen Ende Juni mit dem so genannten GuideBook ein Gerät mit zwei 7-Zoll-Display präsentieren. Die Entwicklung und Produktion erfolgt dabei jeweils auf eigene Faust, anders als bei den Netbooks, wo man auf den Vertragsfertiger Compal setzt. Mehr Infos zum Toshiba GuideBook liegen bisher noch nicht vor.

We’re also assuming / hoping that the company has managed to refine things a bit from the circa-2006 device pictured above.
