New York Post blocks iPad access through Safari browser, it gives a link to the NYPost App. The New York Post will be prompted to download the iOS app, which requires signing up for a subscription starting at $6.99 on a month-to-month basis and $1.99 to download and gets the customer 30 days of access; $39.99 for six months or $74.99 for a year……….
New York Post‘s effort to push subscriptions for its iPad app by blocking access to its website via the Safari browser and it directs you to download the subscription-based application in order to view the website. In surprising fashion NYPost.com is not functional using the pre-installed Safari browser and is now forcing you to buy a subscription to view their news content. The subscriptions aren’t half as attractive as the normal $0.00 you were paying, prices start at $6.99 per month and you have the option for paying $39.99 for six months or $79.99 for the year. You can download the app for free in the App Store but you must sign-up for one of those three subscription levels before viewing any news articles. You can use the another browser and continue for the time being browsing the NYPost.com website for free and the NYPost.com website works just fine on the new Opera Mini browser as well as in Skyfire browser, both are free for download in the App Store (Opera Mini, Skyfire).
