Would You Buy 3D-Printed Shoes For $900 A Pair?

In the past month, we have seen some very unorthodox applications of 3D printing. This time, it is not so unusual, nonetheless very interesting. Continuum Fashion, the popular design studio, has come up with a range of very innovative 3D-printed shoes. The entire range is being called ‘strvct’ and costs $900 a pair.

The design of these shoes have been purely digital, and has allowed the designers to take liberties with their structures and create some very creative outputs. For instance, they have been able to design shoes which are very lightweight, and at the same time, are comfortable ergonomically.

These have been achieved without compromising the strength of the shoes. The designs include sandals with 3D printed bases, origami butterfly shoes, a new look for the wedge pump and many more.

Naturally, the shoes are pricey and are tagged at $900 for a pair. A bit pricey, right? Given the uniqueness of the designs, would you buy a pair for $900?
