Cellrox Introduces Multi-Persona Support For Android ICS

Ever since the corporate world has hooked up to the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) philosophy, it has to face a number of challenges. While BYOD is very convenient in that it gives the employees freedom to choose their device, it also causes a number of security issues. To tackle this, Cellrox has now launched a new toolkit for Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS).

Smartphone-tablet

This new toolkit is called the Jade ICS toolkit and intends to provide multi-persona capabilities to smartphones and tablets. One of the main problems with the BYOD approach is that there are no definite barriers between the personal and official data and this can end up in sensitive official information being leaked.

Multi-persona capabilities minimize such risks. The Jade toolkit allows the users of smartphones and tablets to run two separate personas on their devices – a private persona and a corporate persona. The user may relax the security on his privacy persona but he can separately implement additional measures to secure the data in his corporate persona.

According to the CEO of Cellrox, Omer Eiferman, “Cellrox solutions have been successfully installed in tier-one enterprises around the world and we continue to see a strong demand for mobile virtualization and multi-persona capabilities, particularly with the business/private use-case. Cellrox Jade is the only complete solution in the market, and the toolkit will simplify its adoption by OEMs. It will allow IT to have uncompromised security and end-users to have full privacy and native experience, a classic win-win.”

The Jade toolkit can be easily integrated with a number of Android devices and presents a very viable solution to the corporate sector. The company intends to add Jelly Bean support to its toolkit by the end of 2012.
