The iOS6 comes as a boon for travelers and other consumers, because they can store boarding passes and retail coupons in their device by using Passbook feature. Some airlines and retailers have decided to adopt this feature for their work when the feature becomes available.
Passbook feature is not only able to store boarding passes and retail coupons but also can store movie tickets and loyalty cards all in one place. Passbook will send notifications to related service companies mentioning the time schedule of a particular user.
Users would also be able to use their iPhone or iPod for approving mobile boarding passes at airport gates. Even, Passbook may automatically show users boarding pass when they reach at the airport.
Where United Airlines has already involved in the Apple’s Passbook feature, Delta Air Lines and American Airlines are taking preparation to get involve with this feature, according to a source.
A spokesperson from American Airlines said that “It will be rolling out an app update in the coming weeks in support of Passbook. In the meantime, customers can still access their mobile boarding passes in the current version of American’s mobile app.”
