Analyst Says Apple Will Unveil An All-New MacBbook Sereis At WWDC

As we draw closer to the WWDC 2012 where Apple is expected to make a lot of important announcements, we have had numerous reports about the possible MacBook Pro models that may surface during the event. However, now an analysts with KGI, who has been a rather reliable source in the past, has stated that Apple will probably come up with a new line of notebooks, called simply MacBook.

Ming-Chi Kuo, who is an analyst with KGI, shared these details claiming that he was able to know this from inside sources. From what he is saying, it seems that Apple may drop the names MacBook Pro and MacBook Air and may come up with a unified product which it will brand simply as ‘MacBook.’

Kuo says that the new MacBook wouldn’t feature an optical drive yet will have a solid-state drive. Moreover, the price tag of the 13-inch model is expected to start from $1,199.

Furthermore, this new MacBook will be more slim and light than our regular MacBook Pro yet will be equipped with the same computing power. He also confirmed the rumors that Apple’s new notebook will feature a Retina display with a larger battery.

Kuo further said that the 15-inch model of MacBook will probably be unveiled during next week and it will come with a price tag of $1,799. The 13-inch model on the other hand, won’t be available until August. According to him, Apple has plans of eventually abandoning the MacBook Pro line-up if this new series proves successful enough.
