French company Archos who has unveiled many tablets has decided to enter into the smartphone production line. Recently, the company has announced three affordable unlocked Android smartphones – Archos 35 Carbon, Archos 50 Platinum and Archos 53 Platinum – with prices ranging from $99 to $249 and without any contract.
Archos 35 Carbon
Archos 35 Carbon is an Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) smartphone. This smartphone comes with a 3.5-inch along with a pixel resolution of 480 x 320, a Qualcomm 7225A at 1 Ghz, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, a microSD card, 1,300 mAh Battery. Both front and back cameras are VGA. The phone also includes GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0. Without signing any contract, you will get the phone at $99 or £79.99 and it will be shipped without a SIM and unlocked.
Archos 50 Platinum
Archos 50 Platinum is a mid-range Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) smartphone. This smartphone packs a 5-inch Full Black IPS display along with a pixel resolution of 960 x 540 (220-ppi) into an 8.9mm frame, a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm 8225Q Quad Core cortex-A5 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of memory storage, a microSD card for memory expansion up to 64GB, 8-megapixel HD rear camera with LED flash and autofocus on the back capable of 720p video recording, 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 2,000 mAh battery. You will get this smartphone at a price of $219.99 or £179.99 with no contract and without a SIM and unlocked.
Archos 53 Platinum
Archos 53 Platinum is an Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) smartphone. This smartphone features a 5.3-inch Full Black IPS display that provides a pixel resolution of 960 x 540, a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm 8225Q Quad Core cortex-A5 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory storage, a microSD card for memory expansion up to 64GB, 8-megapixel HD rear camera with LED flash and autofocus on the back capable of 720p video recording, 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 2,800 mAh battery. You will get the unlocked phone without a SIM and without signing any contract at 249.99 or £199.99.
Archos plans to begin selling the above smartphones by the end of May in Europe. There is no mention when the handsets will arrive in the U.S.
