So far it has been the Motorola Atrix and not the Motorola Atrix 4G, thanks in no part to AT&T. Owners of the first dual core, Android smartphone have been without the promised the HSUPA speeds since the phone was released earlier this year. Pressing on, some clever developers over at none other than XDA, have come up with a fairly easy method that will enable HSUPA 4G speeds on your rooted Motorola Atrix.
The pair of XDA members were apparently tired of waiting for the promised software upgrade from AT&T, so they decided to take matters into their own hands. The uncovered hack is pretty straightforward. Atrix users have to simply download and flash the Telstra 1.4.2 radio update using the Motorola flashing tool RSDLite. So far most users that have successfully flashed the new radio are experiencing some significant speed increases.
Remember this hack has NOT been throughly tested and may cause some unexpected network issues. With that being said the developer of the hack has included the original stock AT&T radio to flash in case anything goes wrong.
If you are an interested Atrix owner and want to read up and follow the thread, head over to XDA and join the discussion.
