Amazon Released Android Powered Tablet – Kindle Fire for $199

As expected Amazon released their Tablet named “Kindle Fire”, but surprisingly it will cost only $199 USD. This low cost WiFi version does not have camera and Runs on Android OS. Check the details below.

Few Details About Kindle Fire
1. It Runs Under Android OS and costs only $199 USD .
2. It has 7-inch display.
3. Its priced at $199, will be available from November 15. Its already made available for pre-order.
4. It has Wi-Fi connectivity but no 3G.
5. It does not have camera & microphone
6. Amazon offer $79-per-year membership service that offers streaming video and free two-day shipping on all of its items, with a free 30-day trial.
7. Amazon don’t think of the Kindle Fire as a tablet they think of it as a service.
8. Amazon’s version of the Android app store, with over 10,000 games, e-mail programs, apps and productivity tools.
9. It has dual-core 1GHz TI OMAP processor
10. 1024×600 IPS display made from Gorilla Glass
11. Kindle Fire’s resolution is packing 169 ppi, which is higher than the iPad’s 132 ppi.
12. It will come with 8GB of internal storage which seems little but is compensated by Amazon’s cloud music and movie services.
13. It has a new web browser, called the Amazon Silk. Its a split browser and uses Amazon’s EC2 engine, which will pre-process and optimize web pages in the cloud before delivering it onto the tablet.
14. It will be running on Android 2.1
