Deem is an e-commerce platform that helps advertisers reach out to the relevant audience. The platform is usually focused in letting a local business target users within that locality. Microsoft has now inked a deal with Deem, hoping to offer more local deals from Deem through the ads displayed across Microsoft products.
With the new deal, Microsoft aims to display ads from Deem’s local merchants across Bing, Outlook and a whole lot of its other products. It is unclear as to why the company thought it necessary to depart from its former ads model.
It may be possible that by pushing out more local deals and offers, Microsoft is hoping to bump its revenues. And it has a good chance here, given the fact that Deem has a knack of dishing out focused and relevant ads about local businesses to the users.
These sentiments are resounded in the words of Microsoft’s general manager of Local Advertising, Erik, who says that the company will be able to furnish such ads which are far more appealing to the customers. With a network of 1.2 million merchants, Deem certainly has a huge repository of ads and can cater to the multiple Microsoft products through exclusive local deals.
The image posted above gives a hint at what these new ads may look like when incorporated into Microsoft products, such as the Outlook or Bing. They certainly fall in neatly with the overall design of the products.
