Facebook Will Unveil “A New Look For News Feed” On March 7

It is that time of the year when Facebook rolls out changes that make headlines, ruffle many feathers, raise cries from some angry users and then all goes back to normal. The social network has now announced a March 7 event where it will be unveiling a ‘new look for News Feed.’

Facebook event

Facebook’s changes to the looks and functionality of its social network have been quite contentious in the past. Some changes brought into question the new privacy settings, others left users unhappy with the new looks of the site and yet others were simply deemed unnecessary by self-styled analysts.

Despite all this, the social network seems determined to continue its march towards improving Facebook over and over again. This time, the ax of change is apparently going to fall on the ‘News Feed’ feature. In other words, we may soon see an altogether different outlook of our Facebook home pages.

Their are hints that Facebook may be readying a more image-centric version of the News Feed. This means that rather than consuming endless amounts of text, we may witness images scattered in a measured fashion over the home page. That would surely be visually entertaining but the more important question is, will that make content discovery easier and more convenient? If so, then surely such a change is very welcome.

Stay with us on March 7 and we’ll bring you the latest updates about the new look of News Feed, straight from Facebook’s event.
