Samsung To Release 60GHz Wi-Fi Technology With Five Times Speed

The latest scoop by Samsung has left the world astounded: they are developing a new 60GHz Wi-Fi technology that will have five times the speed of current technology, with an expected data transmission speed of 4.6Gbps or 575MB per second.

Due to increased speed, users will be able to transfer large amount of data within mere seconds, and will also be able to watch high-definition video clips on TV through this Wi-Fi with little to no delay.

This new 802.11ad standard 60GHz Wi-Fi technology is nothing like the existing 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi technologies, and ensures such a high speed through diminishing co-channel interference; and reportedly, it will continue to do so no matter how many devices you add to it.

Previously what was called theoretical speed‘ is now the ‘actual speed, thanks to Samsung. Although it was a bit of a challenge to get ahold of the 60GHz technology, Samsung overcame it successfully by using ‘millimeter-wave circuit design’ and ‘high performance modem technologies’ and developing ‘beam-forming antenna’. All these put together, Samsung achieved success and the concept of high-quality 60GHz Wi-Fi technology was introduced to the world.

It is to be noted here that the beam-forming antenna developed by Samsung is essentially the first ‘micro beam-forming control technology’ in the world, which has enabled them to increase the quality of signal by a large extent. Not only this, the concept of connecting multiple devices to a network at the same time is also a fruition of Samsung’s incessant experiments.

Samsung plans to release the technology commercially in early 2015, and it will be associated with audio-visual devices, mobile phone, Samsung smart homes and also some medical devices.
