YouTube Finally Launches Live Streaming

YouTube has announced that it will launch its Live Streaming service at www.youtube.com/live. It will allow its partners to broadcast live on the web to the video site’s vast global audience. There is no doubt that YouTube is currently the largest website hosting user-recorded and uploaded videos, along with movie trailers or music clips.

From YouTube Blog:

Today we’re announcing the initial roll out of YouTube Live, which will integrate live streaming capabilities and discovery tools directly into the YouTube platform for the first time. This begins with a new YouTube Live browse page (www.youtube.com/live), where you can always find the most compelling live events happening on YouTube and add events to your calendar. Subscribe to your favorite YouTube live-streaming partners to be notified of upcoming live streams on your customized homepage.

In order to be able to enjoy the new features, users will need to navigate to a dedicated webpage that will display the most interesting events that will be streamed by YouTube.

All those who want to make sure that they will not miss the next concert of their favorite band or the upcoming match of their preferred team will have the possibility to subscribe to various partners and be notified of any relevant events.

Until more members will be allowed to live stream from their channels, users can go to the YouTube Live page, try out the newly-launched service and provide feedback so that it can be improved and enhanced.

Thanks
