With the new version users will be able to share photos and messages staying at the home screen. Messenger and camera shortcuts are made available in the app tray.
Moreover, Facebook for Android version 1.9 brings some interesting features that are basically found in traditional full fledged messengers. Facilities include mobile/online status, ability to include new people on the fly while group conversation is already running and the ability to sort contact list as per the order of usage frequency.
