2014 Sochi Winter Olympics

These machines look much like ATM machines with a small blue spot right in front of them. The blue spot is where a person is supposed to stand and do the squats. The machines are apparently fitted with cameras which can discern these movements and keeps displaying the number of squats on a display fitted in these machines.

To get a free train ticket, one must complete 30 squats. In a promotional video about the campaign, people of different age groups are shown squatting in front of these machines and then getting their free tickets.

This campaign is sure to trigger the interest of not only locals but also the tourists in the upcoming mega event. Although Russia has prepped up for the 2014 Sochi Olympics in a major way, many have criticized the country for frequent human rights abuses.
