Earlier, we have seen Samsung launching 55-inch curved OLED TV in South Korea. And now the South Korean tech giant has officially announced the U.S. pricing and availability for its 55-inch curved OLED TV – KN55S9C.
The 55-inch curved OLED KN55S9C TV comes with “self-emitting RGB sub-pixels” which are “laid directly on the color display panel, so no color filter is required.” It also features Samsung’s Multi View technology, which allows two users to watch two different programs at a time in full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels).
The 3D Active glasses have built-in speakers. However, it is considered that curved OLED TV enables people to see more of the screen at more angles than ordinary TV.
Earlier, Samsung had announced KN55S9C in Asia. At that time the company hinted that its price would be around $15,000 in the U.S. But lately the company has given a big surprise by announcing that the KN55S9C will cost $8,999 instead of $15,000 in the U.S. More importantly, comparing to the price of world’s first 55-inch curved OLED HDTV from LG, Samsung’s KN55S9C model is 40% cheaper. Here’s a video of Samsung KN55S9C 55-inch curved OLED TV.
KN55S9C is available on Samsung’s web-store from today. Samsung will also sell the TV through specialty retailers, but through which ones, is not known yet.
