So you wish you could roam the streets and stroll along the roads of Sicily, Italy? Well, if you’re still not sufficient on the cash or are too busy to take the trip, here is an excellent solution for you. A Wi-Fi enabled robot will take you through Sicily, let you interact with locals and see different notable places, all virtually from the comfort of your home.
The idea, which is really impressive, was conceived by San Pellegrino Fruit Beverages. It involves a whole fleet of robots, each of which is equipped with Wi-Fi. Each of these robots also packs a whole range of other features, such as the built-in language translation capabilities as well as a two-way audio-video connection.
Once you like the official Facebook page of SP Fruit Beverages, you are placed in a queue. When your turn comes up, you are able to control one of the said robots for three minutes. During these minutes, you can roam across Sicily, ‘talk’ to the locals and interact with them through audio and video. Each of these robots is 5 feet tall and weighs 350 pounds. However, if you want a different kind of view of the city, you can opt for a Skybot device which has been attached to a 40-feet pole and gives you an excellent bird’s eye view of the whole city.
