Does it have an anti-glare screen like an e-reader?

I purchased the Nextbook thru HSN and I’ve gotta say that I love it!!!! I’ve had it for two weeks and I’d say that I give it FIVE Stars….

    Pros
    -Great Price!!!
-it is a Beautiful piece of equipment; very sleek and modern looking
-Very easy to setup WiFi and access to email accts.
-Touchscreen is great, I haven’t had any issues…
-Allows you to do a lot of things such as read email, download and read books and surf the web
-downloading books from Borders is REALLY easy and it comes pre-loaded w/ a few classics….
-The screen resolution and picture is really nice
-Provides the capability to increase storage
-The speakers are a nice addition and allows one to listen to music also…

    Cons
    -It ISN’T an iPad 🙂
-web browsing can a little slow… not as fast as my PC but not nearly as bad as a SmartPhone.
-When surfing the web or the Borders app, you will encounter some error messages – and that is b/c of the operating system (I had a SmartPhone using the Android OS and that happened to me frequently)
-Transferring books from your PC to the tablet is not intuitive… if you are THAT tech savy (which I am so I could figure it out), it can take some time get it to work – which WILL involve installing an app on your PC and using that.
-the website for the company supporting this device is not completely functional (I assume this is a new company). So, there isn’t an area where you can go to get software updates yet.

Overall, I give this item 5 stars based on the ALL the pros…. for those of you looking for an iPad replacement, don’t bother, this probably isn’t the right device for you. However, if you are looking for an item that is mostly an eReader that will allow you to check your email, listen to music and do some web surfing, than this is a perfect device. I also think it would make a good gift.

I purchased the Nextbook 3 days ago and have been charging it ever since. The battery will not charge. Today is day three of charging the battery. I’ll be returning it to HSN on Monday. I just know I would love it, if it would have worked. I’ve lost trust in the device as a result, so I’ll look for something else.

There is some thing else wrong. This device could not be entirely faulty. Maybe some thing like cable or connector is faulty or just talk to their support or from where you have bought.

  9. Asif2BD

Its Android OS. So just search Apps for Android. BTW there is Apps for Android to view movies of various format like AVI, MP4, FLV etc.

EVEN THOUGH MY LAPTOPS GET A STRONG SIGNAL, MY NEXT BOOK INDACAATES THE SIGNAL STRENGTH ISN’T GOOD ENOUGH? ANYONE HAVE ANYIDEAS AS TO MY PROBLEM?

I’ve had mine for a few days now and have had no problem charging, I get on the Internet with no problem and get my email (using the same email address that I have on my computer), so far it’t great.

I found a calendar app ( called AnCal) on the An Apps Store that might do the trick. look under Productivity then PIMS & Calendars, there are others on there also that might work.

  14. cafe2day

Can you get a virus by downloading one of these apps from the Apps Store?

loved mine – until it froze up after only 2 days. HSN is out of stock- so I am waiting to return it at this point. I like it much better than the Nook.

dude seriously, just press the button once and it goes back to like this. if you want any help, dont spell like an idiot, and dont capitalize EVERY SINGLE WORD.

I am using the wifi from my home cable router, my Next2 picks up the signal but it does’t hold the signal. It either disconnects or radomly scans. I also have mobile hotspot on my phone, the next2 doesn’t pick up the signal at all but my laptot does. Has this happen to anyone and is there a solution to the issue?

I loved this tablet for the first week. First, it wouldn’t let me buy books from the Borders icon. You have to use your browser and go to Borders then it works fine. Its an annoyance, but one I can live with. Now I’m getting a message on my browser that says “Browser (process com.android.browser) has stopped unexpectedly.” Force Close. Has anyone else had this problem? How do you fix it?
