The Taiwanese smartphone maker is riding a roller coaster lately. After the company just lost a legal battle against Apple and some of its phones were banned from imports in US starting early next year, now HTC is expected to have an impressive comeback and to launch an impressive smartphone, to top the Android hierarchy. Reports reveal that from next year HTC is going to change its market and production strategy.
Apparently the Taiwanese company will focus on building less handsets but with high end features in order to attract more sophisticated users willing to pay more for quality products. Jonathan S. Geller from BGR, who first reported the news quoting “a trusted source”, hinted that in 2012 “HTC’s release schedule is going to be shockingly quiet for most of the first quarter next year.” BGD author suggested that HTC will release the first 4G Windows smartphone which will have 4.7 inch display as well as the flagship Android smartphone by mid 2012.
But the rumors don’t stop here, as we are being whispered some more technical details. HTC’s next Android smartphone expected to be the top of the pecking order will be dubbed Elite, will obviously run on Android Ice Cream Sandwich and it will sport Beats Audio. The rumored release date is the first week of April. Geller’s source suggested that the smartphone will be carried by AT&T under the name of “HTC Congressional.”
