Facebook For iOS Gets New Features, Home Lands On Android

Facebook has recently rolled out a number of new updates to both its desktop and mobile versions. Both the iOS and Android apps of the social network have received a number of new features. Chat Heads, stickers and a redesigned News Feed had been added to the iOS app whereas the new Facebook Home has landed on the Android app.

Apparently, the chief focus of the social network when it comes to its mobile apps is to ensure a better, smoother chatting experiences for its users. To this end, Facebook has rolled out the feature of ‘Chat Heads’ for its iOS app. The new feature essentially allows iOS users to continue chatting, no matter where they are within the app.

Chat Heads can be dragged around the iOS screen and tapped to talk or wrap. Moreover, Facebook is also offering ‘Stickers’ which can be added to messages while you are talking on Chat Heads.

Finally, the other significant feature that has arrived on Facebook for iOS is the revamped News Feed. We caught a glimpse of the new design a while ago. The new look has more of an image-centric approach which makes certain sense for the smaller screens of mobile devices. The updated iOS app can be downloaded from App Store.

Facebook has also made the ‘Home app’ available for Android users. The app is available on Google Play store but can be currently used only on a limited number of high-end smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note II, HTC One X, X+ and HTC First.
