Photo gives HTC Doubleshot away

We, as IT journalists have made great progress since we are able to tell that HTC is going to launch a new phone with certain specifications just by looking at a photo. Our colleagues from abroad have come across a photo uploaded on the photo sharing site Picasso by a HTC employee from the USA.

He was a bit careless and has forgotten to erase the photo EXIF beforehand. In this manner, people have found out that the photo has been taken with a phone named HTS Doubleshot which runs the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and has a QWERTY keyboard.  This is not a HTC ChaCha descendant, but a QWERTY slider, just as the EXIF information suggests.

Starting from the model number shown in EXIF, specialists have come to the conclusion that HTC Doubleshot has 802.11n connectivity and 3.0 Bluetooth. Also, the screen resolution is WVGA, namely 800×480 pixels. The name of the phone reminds us a bit of a camera able to take 3D photos.

We are probably not going to have two cameras incorporated in the phone, but only one with which we can take 3D photos by combining two pictures takes from two different angles.  Sony’s NEX series cameras have been using this system for some time. Other rumors say that this smartphone has a Qualcomm 1, 2 GHz dual core processor and  it going to be launched in July.  More details will be available when HTC Doubleshot has been officially launched.
