Assassin’s Creed IV is the unconfirmed title of the next game of the Assassin’s Creed series, developed by Ubisoft Montreal. The game is still in the line of planning. However, speculations about the game is already flying on air, and we have also got a possible release date. The next installment of Assassin’s Creed is expected to be released in 2013 or 2014.
Ubisoft has already made several statements about the next installment. The most important of them is that Assassin’s Creed IV setting may go back before the time period of Assassin’s Creed III, the latter set during the American revolution. That means, it will go backwards to the Desmond’s ancestor’s memories. Ubisoft Montreal’s CEO Pelland said, “It’s a question we’ve been getting a lot. It’s not a moving forward thing, it’s all based on lineage and on DNA and therefore it has nothing to do with time. The next game could easily go backwards as much as forward, no problem.” This suggests Ancient Egypt, Imperial China, revolutionary Russia as the possible locations for the next Assassin’s Creed game. It is also said that this time the artifact will be no more Apple of Eden. A new lost artifact will come in front.
Ubisoft is mulling about introducing a new protagonist in the new game. However, it may feature the protagonist of Assasin;’s Creed III, Connor, in the next game if the fan reaction is positive, acknowledged creative director Alex Hutchinson. But, Ubisoft don’t intend to create a trilogy based on a single protagonist.
