TorrentFreak released recently the analysis regarding the most downloaded torrents of last year. The reports also reveals that the number of illegal download slightly decreased since 2010. When it comes to PC games downloaded as torrents, the most pirated games of 2011 were Crysis 2 (Estimated 3.9 million), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (3.6 million), Battlefield 3 (3.5 million), FIFA 12 (3.3 million) and Portal 2 (3.2 million).
In the Wii games area, the number of illegal downloads was significantly lower, than the ones revealed by the previous charts. Here the top five pirated games looks like this: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (1.2 million), Mario Sports Mix (1 million), Xenoblade Chronicles (950,000), Lego Pirates of the Caribbean (870,000), FIFA 12 (860,000). The most downloaded Xbox 360 game from torrents was Gears of War 3 (890,000).
TorrentFreak also reveals that the most pirated Hollywood movie of 2011 was Fast Five, with more than nine million illegal downloads. In the top 10 of the most downloaded movies were also The Hangover II, Thor, The King’s Speech and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. TorrentFreak report relies on a number of official sources and mainly was supplied by BitTorrent trackers.
