Pod2g discovered the potential SHAtter exploit and 24Kpwn which is expected to be used in the upcoming GreenPois0n tool (to jailbreak iOS 4.1).

pod2g has tweeted that he is no longer affiliated with Chronic Dev Team and is working independently.He even added – “I am an exploit maker, not a jailbreak tool developer”. This can be foreseen as a major setback for current iOS 4.1 and iOS 4.2 jailbreak development. However, the Chronic Dev Team and iPhone Dev Team will continue to work on SHAtter exploit for Jailbreaking iOS 4.1 firmware.

Pod2g and p0sixninja were earlier working together on SHAtter exploit in conjunction with Greenpois0n. Those who don’t know, Greenpois0n is a cross-platform iBoot payload toolkit to help hackers discover new vulnerabilities and design super fast, low-level iBoot jailbreaks and exploit payloads, like the way blackra1n or purplera1n. On the other hand SHAtter, which is unlike userland exploit JailbreakMe is a low level-bootrom exploit, that can’t be fixed by Apple without a new hardware release of iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad and the iPod touches with new bootroms.
